Here at David Healey Solicitors we take great pride in taking care of all your workers compensation, personal injury and medical negligence matters.
Our firm was founded on our expertise in these areas especially in Comcare and EML matters where we have been able to achieve great outcomes for our clients across a number of years. We provide a caring and family friendly environment in order to make our clients feel safe, respected and heard.
We are devoted to our client’s rights across many areas of civil law and look forward to providing our new and prospective clients with the same high level of care and service that we have become renowned for across Australia and in the ACT.

Meet the team
David Healey
Principal Lawyer & Owner
David practices primarily in Commonwealth and Australian Capital Territory Compensation Law. He has established an excellent network of Barristers and Specialists to assist with this complex area of law to achieve the maximum result for the client. He has a strong practice in assisting government workers, including police, ambulance and fire and rescue workers, with their EML and Comcare matters and helping them realise their next chapter. He has a passion for human rights where he has successfully fought for those that have been discriminated against in the workplace. David is dedicated to achieving a fair and equitable outcome for those who are injured as a result of their employment with the Commonwealth, ACT Government and private sector. He is admitted to practice in the Australian Capital Territory as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of the ACT and the High Court of Australia. David is also a Reservist Legal Officer in the Australian Defence Force where he is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Legal Corp helping defence in a variety of capacities. David loves inspiring young minds through his work as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra Law School and at the ANU. David is also a volunteer for a number of agencies and enjoys helping the less fortunate through his work on the streets of Queanbeyan and Canberra.
Anthea Healey
Practice Manager & Owner
Anthea is the joint owner of the practice and brings with her a career as a former police officer along with a business degree which assists in the running of the practice and future needs of expansion. She is a dedicated person and much loved by all that meet her due to her kind and caring nature.
Caitlin Barlow
Executive Assistant to David Healey
Caitlin is the Executive Assistant to David Healey. She is detail-oriented and organised, and prioritises providing personalised and timely support to David as well as the rest of the David Healey Solicitors team. Caitlin is currently completing her studies at the University of Canberra and is bringing her expertise in facilitating growth and development for our team.
Alannah Culnane
Personal Assistant to David Healey
Alannah recently finished high school and has transitioned into the workforce, currently working as a personal assistant to Solicitor David Healey. In this role, she provides organised and reliable administrative support to David. Alannah is known for being positive person in the workspace.
Dean Prail
Special Counsel
Dean Prail is an experienced Australian lawyer based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, with a long-standing focus on workers’ compensation and employment-related law. Over the course of his career, he has held senior legal advisory roles, been Principal of his own firm for a decade and a half, and now acts as Special Counsel at David Healey Solicitors with a practice centred on advising and representing clients in complex compensation matters, particularly those involving Commonwealth and ACT government employees, providing advice on workers’ compensation frameworks, with a strong reputation for his expertise in this specialised area of law.
Zac Chmieluk
Junior Solicitor
Zac is a Junior Solicitor at David Healey Solicitors with experience in the Commonwealth public service, including at the Administrative Review Tribunal, where he developed insight into administrative review processes and decision-making under Commonwealth compensation schemes. Zac is a graduate of the University of Canberra, holding a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Economics), and is admitted to practise as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory. He assists in workers’ compensation matters and is committed to achieving fair and practical outcomes for his clients.
Nikki Drummond
Graduate Lawyer
Nikki graduated with a Juris Doctor from the ANU in November 2025. Nikki joined the team at David Healey Solicitors as a Graduate supporting the team across a range of practice areas. She brings strong research, analytical, and communication skills, along with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to client service. She has extensive experience in healthcare leadership and medical education and emergency healthcare. With a passion for advocacy and client support, Nikki brings professionalism and a genuine commitment to delivering effective outcomes for the firm’s clients.
Cassie Cameron
Paralegal
Cassie is studying a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the ANU and plans to graduate in 2027. Cassie supports our team as a Civil paralegal in workers compensation matters and is committed to ensure clients understand their options at every step of the way to have a positive outcome. With her experience in hospitality and community umpiring, Cassie handles client matters in an approachable manner with fairness and integrity.
Claudia Hunt
Paralegal
Claudia is studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (English Major) at the ANU and plans to graduate in 2027. Claudia has previously worked for the Australian National University as a research assistant and is Editor-in-Chief of ANU’s Student Media Association. She joined our team as a Civil Paralegal to assist in worker’s compensation matters and is committed to advocating for clients so that they get the support and justice they deserve.

Emily is studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the ANU and is due to graduate in 2028. Emily joined our team as a Civil Paralegal, supporting workers’ compensation matters, and provides caring and empathetic assistance to our clients. She has a keen interest in the law as it relates to Indigenous Australians, health care, and culturally safe services.

Harrison is studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Political Science at the ANU and plans to graduate in 2027. Harrison supports our team on both Civil and Criminal matters. With his previous experience of working with AFL Canberra, Harrison capably handles sensitive matters for clients in a professional and accommodating manner.

Henry brings business leadership experience working as an Operations Manager at a locally based McDonald’s franchise, understanding the importance of professional client service and high-quality outcomes.
