David practices primarily in Commonwealth and Australian Capital Territory Compensation Law as well as criminal matters. He has established an excellent network of Barristers and Specialists to assist with this complex area of law to achieve the maximum result for the client. He has a strong practice in criminal matters, defending those with minor to serious criminal allegations and has a passion for human rights where he has successfully fought for those that have been discriminated against in the workplace. David Healey is dedicated to achieving a fair and equitable outcome for those who are injured as a result of their employment with the Commonwealth, ACT Government or private sector. He is admitted to practice in the Australian Capital Territory as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of the ACT and the High Court of Australia. David is also a Reservist Legal Officer in the Australian Defence Force and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Canberra Law School.
Claire Natoli is an experienced and passionate litigator at Healey Criminal Law and specialises in criminal defence and personal injury law. She takes a client-centred approach and leaves no stone unturned to achieve the best possible results for every single client. Claire commenced her career at a national firm working across their Sydney and Canberra offices in commercial and administrative litigation. She moved into plaintiff/applicant litigation and managed a boutique civil law practice before re-directing her career into predominantly criminal law. Claire regularly appears in the ACT Magistrates and Supreme Court as well as in NSW Local and District Courts, the Federal Court and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University.
Maddi is a Law Graduate at Healey Criminal Law, currently completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. In 2020, Maddi graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (major in Gender Studies, minor in History) from the Australian National University. During her time at David Healey Solicitors, Maddi has worked extensively in both civil and criminal matters and is committed to providing reliable and prompt legal support for her clients. Maddi has a keen interest in criminal law and will tenaciously defend clients who have been charged with criminal offences. She also has a depth of experience and a compassionate approach to supporting clients through Commonwealth and ACT Workers’ Compensation claims and into the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Lily is a paralegal across both Healey Criminal Law and Healey Civil Law and is a final year Bachelor of Laws student at the ANU. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2020, with a major in psychology and minors in both Gender Studies and Indonesian. Lily is passionate about social justice and always strives to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. Lily is an experienced paralegal and assists with both criminal and civil matters. She looks forward to beginning her graduate year in 2022.
